An interesting and fast-paced sci-fi/fantasy story. I don't think I've ever read anything by this author before, but this book was pretty good, and good enough that I'll read the next one in the series.

I found this book easy to read and certainly kept my attention. It is a scary idea that could some day be true (at least parts of it). I enjoyed the charactors and will continue to read the series. There are surprises and you aren't sure how it will end until it does.

Goodreads LIES. This book has a girl named Max with wings and several other bird children who escape from the horrible "School," but this is NOT a Maximum Ride book. >:C James Patterson even says in the Maximum Ride books that the similarities end there.
